At the risk of doing something wrong, I'm passing along Danielle
Chynoweth's stand on the elections. Danielle is a recently elected urbana
city councilwoman, a teacher at SDAS, artist, computer consultant at
OJC, one of the founding people of IMC and AWARE, a passion flower,
etc...enuff already.
I'm prompted to do this by Jennifer Cartwright's 'local but clueless' e
mail request.

Subject: [Sdas] election opinions
elections are tomorrow. polls are open 6 am to 7 pm.
here's who i'm voting for. i recommend people form their own opinions,
but people did show an interest in knowing my stand, here it is:
governor:
* blagojevich - my choice - 100% pro-choice voting record - was worked to
push through gay rights legislation at a time when no one was - pro gun
control - anti death penalty but hides this fact
vallas - conservative dem - more interested in fiscal austerity than
social programs
burris - african amer - liberal dem - good ideas on education (see
website) - doesn't support gay rights as of 4 years ago - pro death
penalty
state rep:
* prussing over jakobbsen (prussing says "i am a dem and a green" and
holds her ground. jakobbsen has shown she will bent her principles under
heat from the democratic party - like supporting a referendum for tax
caps)
state atty general:
* schmidt over madigan (madigan's campaign $ is coming from her father who
is a DLC schmuck and the most powerful man in illinois politics)
county board:
i also strongly recommend against voting for Beckett for county board - he
opposed the living wage and other progressive laws - vote for * Summers
instead - * Kirshner is a good progressive and i support * wosoki (sp?)
as well.
