Attending:  Raia Fink, Susan Parenti, Lisa Chason, Al Kagan, Carol Inskeep,

Proposal from Lisa:  Spend the first 30 minutes of the meeting doing a 
presentation or performance, then moving into the meeting.

People want performance AND presentation.  The presentation can be a 
speaker talking about a topic, a nice focused discussion, a member of 
another group talking about what their group is doing, a video, etc.

Have a committee (AWARE Care) do it again?  Farm it out to individuals, 
with a group of consultants available?

Some thought that 30 minutes wasn't enough.

Modified proposal:

5:00 - 5:10     Performance
5:10 - 5:40     Discussion
5:40 - 5:55     Carl's Update
5:55 - 6:00     Break
6:00 - 6:30     Business meeting
         What happened last week
         What's coming up next week
         Other announcements, etc.
6:30            Working groups meet

Sample announcement (this is hypothetical):
Come to the next AWARE Meeting!

Featuring:
* Songs by Paul Kotheimer at 5 p.m.

* "The Peace Churches' Efforts to End the War on Terrorism", a half-hour 
talk by Prof. Jay Mittenthal of the Champaign-Urbana Peace Churches

* News of the Week by Carl Estabrook at 5:40

* AWARE's weekly business meeting at 6:00

* And Working Groups at 6:30
                 Sunday, June 2, 2002 at the Urbana-Champaign Independent 
Media Center
                 218 W. Main St., Urbana

Peter will find speakers, Carol will find performers, and Lisa will bring food.

Next meeting of AWARE Care is next Thursday, June 6.  (Peter won't be there.)
