Please feel free to forward this announcement to whomever you think would
be interested. It's a small festival, but building every year, and it
goes to support the Prompting Theater, a local theater troupe comprised of
adults with developmental disabilities. sorry about crossposting, but
i'm rather frantically trying to get the word out about this.

The Prompting Theater invites you to the 2nd Annual Street Theater
Festival, held this Saturday (September 14th) in downtown Urbana.
Featuring outdoor performances, this festival begins at 3 pm with a circus
troupe and ends around 11 (with a street dance by the Brat Pack who
start playing at 9). The Prompting Theater, a local theater troupe
comprised of adults with developmental disabilities, will also be
performing, presenting their latest work (a rewriting of Shakespeare's
Romeo and Juliet bound to make anyone laugh) at 4 pm. Partake in the
various games by trying your hand at things such as stilt walking,
tightrope walking, juggling, and the ever popular sword fighting (and
more!), and get food from the Embassy, Sandwich Boy, and Charity's
Catering. Tickets for food and games are $1 each, with the proceeds going
to benefit the Prompting Theater. As well, the Iron Post will be hosting
a beer garden in conjunction with the festival. Drinking will only be
allowed in the beer garden, allowing the festival to continue to be an all
ages festival. Come on out (rain or shine) for this festival with
puppets, storytelling, experimental theater, comedy, and circus arts. The
festival will be at the corner of Race and Elm in Urbana, unless rain in
which case the festival will move into the parking garage in downtown
Urbana. Support the Prompting Theater, support local actors, support
community.
