Doug,

It's the phony war over here -- most of the press have been put to sleep on
Iraq since Monday so that the Government has been subject to much media
pressure.

No, we didn't hear about Blair's decision on unprovoked first strike with
NUCS approval. Do tell, or are you asking? The Government line seems to be
that a new tough UN resolution is needed with a timetable. In the main,
Blair and Straw are staying quiet for the moment. Let the public talk about
anything but Iraq.

There's a debate in Parliament on Tuesday, when the WMD dossier will be
released.  Then it's the big anti-war demo on 28 September, followed by
Labour Party conference.
