[Prof. Edward Kolodziej is the Director of the Office of Global Studies and Research Professor of Political Science (Emeritus) at UIUC.  He is the former head of the Dept. of Political Science at the Univ. of Virginia and UIUC. He was also Director of the Ford Foundation Interdisciplinary Seminar on the World Society, and Co-Founder and first Director of ACDIS. 

Prof. Kolodziej received his Ph.D. from the Univ. of Chicago in 1961. He is the recipient of numerous grants and awards, and has written or edited 12 books on security and foreign policy. He has recently completed an edited volume on the global politics of human rights entitled The Power, Politics, and Prospects of Human Rights, to be published by University of Pennsylvania Press. His current projects include a Cambridge University Press volume relating international security to world politics, and a volume on a theory of global governance as the pursuit of order, welfare, and legitimacy.
