Peace Action Network at Illinois State University.
	SPA will be providing rides from the Circle Drive of the Union
leaving at 12:30pm. Should return by 5 or 6pm.

There will be a downstate anti-war rally in Normal this Sunday, April 13. While
I realize that Bloomington-Normal may be a ways to go, we here at the Illinois
State University chapter of Student Peace Action Network would like to invite
you all to join us. The rally will feature speakers from student and citizen
peace groups throughout the state, who will speak of the urgency of redirecting
funds to education and healthcare, rather than spend it on war and weapons;
speakers who will speak of the urgency of stopping further wars not only in the
Middle East (consensus is that Syria is next in line for attack after Iraq) but
throughout the world; and speakers who will speak of the need for promoting
democracy not only here in the United States, but throughout the world.

Directions:

Coming into town from the north on Interstate 55:

Turn off on Highway 51 (Main Street). Head south on Main Street until you reach
the corner of Main and College. Turn left on College. Continue on College Ave.
past ISU campus until you reach Linden Street. Continue past Linden several
blocks to Anderson Park, which will be on your left.

Coming into town from the south on Interstate 55:

Turn off on the Veterans Parkway exit of Interstate 55. Continue on Veterans
until you reach Main Street, Highway 51. Turn off onto Main. Continue through
town, into Normal. At the corner of Main and College, turn left. Continue on
College Ave. past ISU campus until you reach Linden Street. Continue past
Linden several blocks to Anderson Park, which will be on your left.


Coming into town from the west on Interstate 74:

>From I-74, turn off onto I-55 ONLY until you reach Highway 51 (Main Street).
Head south on Main Street until you reach the corner of Main and College. Turn
left on College. Continue on College Ave. past ISU campus until you reach
Linden Street. Continue past Linden several blocks to Anderson Park, which will
be on your left.

Coming into town from the east on Interstate 74:

>From I-74, turn off onto Highway 51 (Main Street) towards Bloomington-Normal.
Continue through town, into Normal. At the corner of Main and College, turn
left. Continue on College Ave. past ISU campus until you reach Linden Street.
Continue past Linden several blocks to Anderson Park, which will be on your
left.

wondering why you received this email, I'll explain: I am looking to spread
word of this rally as far as possible. I've spent several hours combing through
the Registered Student Organization pages of as many universities and colleges
as I could think of, in hopes of finding Campus Greens, Peace Action, Amnesty
International, Environmental Action, and College Democrats organizations who by
my estimate would seem to be supportive of holding such a rally. My efforts
yielded your email addresses, as the presidents of all the organizations I was
able to track down. If you would like to help out or co-sponsor this event, or
if you have a speaker to suggest, please let me know. If you wish not to
receive any more emails from me, please tell me so I can remove you from any
master email lists I have.

That being said, I hope to see some of you here in Normal this Sunday for what
I hope will be a spectacular convergence, one to remember.
