Swarna Rajagopalan is a Visiting Asst. Professor in the Dept. of Political
Science at UIUC. Her research interests include topics relating to security,
nation-building, gender and identity. Her publications include 'State and
Nation in South Asia' (Lynne Rienner, 2001), 'Re-distribution of Authority: A
Cross-Regional Perspective' (co-edited with Jeanie Bukowski, Praeger, 2000)
and several articles and book chapters. Her presentation will be based on her
contribution to a book on women and security in South Asia that she is
co-editing with Farah Faizal.
