[Peace] Nonviolence Training this Sunday

AWARE's working group on active nonviolence will offer
a one-hour training session on Sunday, March 30 at 4
PM at the Independent Media Center, 218 W. Main,
Urbana.  Participants will briefly share ideas about
active nonviolence, learn a practical technique for
resolving conflicts nonviolently, and practice that
technique as they participate in a "hassle line".  

The training in nonviolence will be especially
important for anti-war demonstrators, as they
encounter more and more hostility from those who
consider protesting an unpatriotic activity during
wartime.  The training will also be helpful for anyone
who wants to practice interacting effectively with
people who hold opposing viewpoints on the war. 

We hope you will join us on Sunday as we share ideas
and practice using active nonviolence, a form of power
capable not just of neutralizing violence, but of
transforming a situation.
