please forward:

The San Diego-based acoustic folk duo The Prince Myshkins will be performing
this Friday, November 5 at 7:00pm in the Main Lounge of Allen Hall, 1005 W.
Gregory, Urbana. This concert is FREE and open to the public.

The Prince Myshkins (Rick Burkhardt, accordion, and Andy Gricevich, acoustic
guitar) have been performing together since 1995. Their study of musical
traditions from a hundred years of American folk to Berlin cabaret to Brazilian
jazz to Schubert has given their music a unique folk/cabaret sound all its own.
The Myshkins regularly appear as KPBS San Diego’s resident satirists - they
have also been heard on NPR’s “Morning Edition” and Pacifica’s “Democracy Now.”
The Prince Myshkins are on a tour promoting their recently released CD "Total
Myshkins Awareness."

What people are saying about The Prince Myshkins:

“Klezmer meets Godot and Brothers Grimm.... The Myshkins are first-rate
musicians whose sardonic songs induce life-threatening fits of laughter.”
KPBS San Diego

“Anyone aspiring to write political satire should hear this brilliant duo.”
Sing Out! magazine

“A remarkably skilled pair of singer-songwriters....
Very funny, lively, smart and political. Their CD, Shiny Round Object,
is my favorite recording of the last millennium.”
Charlie King

“The songs are meticulous masterpieces, lyrically and musically.... each
song an American epic unto itself. The Prince Myshkins are true American
queer music revolutionaries, and Shiny Round Object is the new direction of
indie-pendence.”
Outvoice Reviews

“A brilliant musical duo whose biting political satire has enlivened San
Diego’s music scene. Their original songs challenge, entertain, and
enlighten.”
