it's totally happening.

in quasi-solidarity with other campuses across the country, there will be a 
filibuster tomorrow afternoon in front of the union starting at noon that will go 
on for as long as people keep signing up and talking. (www.filibusterfrist.com).

why?
to show our support for the senate filibuster which is currently being 
threatened by senator frist's plan to introduce the "nuclear option"-a rule 
change that would ban filibusters of judicial nominations. the filibuster plays an 
important function in protecting the minorty party and considering this move to 
abolish the filibuster is motivated by the hopes of OK-ing bush's right-right 
nominees for federal courts that will impact the country for several decades to 
come.... filibuster=good.

noon on wednesday:
there will be a signup sheet tomorrow afternoon so come signup for a half hour 
slot of quality, summer filibustering! (again, you can read a textbook, recite 
poetry, freestyle, talk politics, share melville, etc). do come out and join the 
fun.
