The IMC is now hiring for a book keeper. Please consider applying or
send this to someone who you think would be a good fit. Below is the
job description and application information.
Application should be sent to finance at ucimc.org ASAP no later than
Wednesday, December 20th at 5 PM. We would like to briefly interview
all candidates on Thursday, December 21st between 10am and 1pm.

NOW HIRING IMC BOOK KEEPER
Time Commitment:
~10 hours per week. Weekly commitment required.
Pay:
$10 per hour
Available:
Immediately
Position Responsibilities:
- Manages and records all IMC financial transactions using
Quickbooks, including bills, invoices, rent, donations,
disbursements, etc.
- Communicates with IMC workgroups and fiscally sponsored groups
regarding their finances.
- Ensures that financial reports are made available on a timely basis.
- Files organization paperwork.
- Works with Space Coordinator regarding rental income and invoicing.
- Works with Treasurer and Finance Working Group.
- Reads and responds to Finance listserv.
- Attends Finance Working Group meetings.
- Maintains active involvement in the organization.
Applicant should:
- be highly self-motivated, organized, responsible, detail oriented,
and able to work independently.
- commit to no less than one year.
Experience with Quickbooks or accounting software software a plus.

About the IMC:
The Urbana-Champaign Independent Media Center is a grassroots
organization committed to using media production and distribution as
tools for promoting social and economic justice in the urbana Area.
We will empower people to "become the media" by providing democratic
access to available technologies and information. The IMC operates a
community media and arts center housed in the historic downtown
Urbana post office building. The center includes a stage, radio
station, production studios, art studios, wood and silkscreening
