Postcards for Peace Mailing Ceremony

Saturday, December 30th from 11am - Noon
Independent Media Center (202 S. Broadway in downtown Urbana)

* We'll be sending over 700 postcards to Senators Durbin and Obama and to Representative Tim Johnson, urging them to bring the troops home now

* Local musician Paul Kottheimer will perform

* Snacks and socializing to follow

Postcards for Peace is a   follow-up to the election results, to remind our representatives that we   want U.S. troops out of Iraq. 58% of Champaign township and 65% of   Cunningham township (Urbana) voted for the "orderly and rapid   withdrawal" of U.S. military personnel and bases from Iraq. Over   150 communities nationwide have voted to "Get out of Iraq   Now".  Postcards for Peace is a grassroots ad hoc group of concerned   community members.
