[Peace] 3000th US military death vigil?

I'd like to propose that the community be prepared to hold a candlelight vigil on the afternoon/evening that the US military death toll reaches the 3000 mark. As of tonight it's at 2991 so it could be in the next day or so. What about meeting at the Courthouse/Vet memorial in Urbana at 6:00 pm of that day - or - at One Main? I think it important that the anti-war community issue the call, since the last vigil at the 2000th death was completely depoliticized. I'd like to see it a somber occasion, but one that acknowledges the 500,000+ Iraqi deaths and calls for immediate withdrawal and accountability for the warmakers. What do others think?

An offering:

Internal peace is an essential first step to achieving peace in the
world. How do you cultivate it? It's very simple. In the first place by
realizing clearly that all humankind is one, that human beings in every
country are members of one and the same family.

- His Holiness the Dalai Lama

I wish each of us internal peace as we do our work, be in our relationships with one another, love what we love, play and dream.

  Happy New Year!

  -Kimberlie
