I would like to invite you for the month of June to the Blue Ridge mountains of
West Virginia to take part in an arts - activism - envisioning project
called School for Designing a Society.

Inspiring, challenging, playful, deep interactions with core and guest
presenters and other participants to broaden and hone your ...
skills ... concepts ... questions ... enthusiasm:
to formulate ideas and actions toward desired social change.

Among the guest presenters during the summer session will be media
critic, scholar & activist Robert McChesney. During his week-long
visit, participants will have the opportunity to interact closely with
him and his upbeat assessment of potentials in (despite?) the current
political climate.

Other guests will include utopian doctor Patch Adams, Latin American
issues activist Catherine Murphy, members of the politcal theater and
music groups
the Nonsense Company and the Prince Myshkins (Rick Burkhardt, Andy
Gricevich, and Ryan Higgins), education theorist Nel Noddings,
economist Michael Brun, feminist scholar Meadow Jones, and movement
theater artists Jeff Glassman and Lisa Fay.
Core instructors throughout the month will be activist
composer-designers Susan Parenti, Rob Scott and Mark Enslin.

The School for Designing a Society summer session is June 1-30, 2006,
located at the Gesundheit! Institute in WV, future site of a free
hospital based on fun and friendship.
The summer session fee of $1200 covers tuition, room and board.
To apply, visit: www.DesigningASociety.org
Application deadline: May 1, 2006

you are welcome to forward this.
Thanks
Mark Enslin
