 Dear Friends,
Alfred Ivy, an African American attorney that I have worked with here in
Champaign County, and a graduate of the U of I College of Law, has decided
to run as a Democrat for Champaign County State's Attorney to give the
Democrats a choice in the Feb. 5th primary.  But he needs your help in order
to get enough signatures (min. 173).
We are meeting at Democratic HQ (14 E. Washington, in downtown Champaign)
tomorrow morning *(Saturday) at 10:00 am *to pass out petitions and go door
to door for signatures.  We are asking people to turn them in to Democratic
Headquarters this Sunday night. I will be there from 6:30 to 8 pm, and can
notarize your petitions.
If you need to pick up petitions and cannot make it to headquarters Saturday
morning (or need more), feel free to contact me.  My phone number is:
367-5643, and we can coordinate a way to get the petitions to you.
