Patch Adams, M.D., is a nationally known speaker on wellness, laughter, and humor as well as on health care and health care systems. He approaches the issues of personal, community, and global health with zestful exuberance, according to Time Magazine. After conducting a small free hospital out of his home for several years, Patch has devoted the last 36 years of his life to building a large-scale free hospital in rural West Virginia. Patch is also trained as a clown and organizes yearly "clowning trips" to Russian orphanages and hospitals. A movie about Patchs life stars Robin Williams.

A talk by Dr. Michael Adee about Gays in Christianity, gay marriage, politics and religion, and the separation of church and state.

Dr. Michael Adee is a Presbyterian minister and religious LGBT activist. In the late 1980s, he was fired from his job as a professor of communications at the University of Northern Kentucky over his attempts to begin a non-university sanctioned support group for LGBT students. Following his departure from the university, he attended seminary and went on to be an activist against Christianity-based oppression of LGBTQ people as the National Field Organizer for More Light Presbyterians, an organization working for full participation of LGBT people in the Presbyterian Church.

The Allen Lounge is a series of musical concerts that explore various cultures through music. This session will feature Mhondoro, an ensemble that plays popular Zimbabwean music. Mhondoro play in several local genres ranging from the mbira-based Chimurenga music of Thomas Mapfumo, to the fast Jit styles of the Bhundu Boys and Oliver Mtukudzi, to songs by the sungura stars Leonard Dembo and John Chibadura.
