 ALL ARE WELCOME!
                                           The Friend's New Sanctuary
House Party
                                            Friday, October 19th
5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the
Meetinghouse

* a dinner of rice, beans, and fruit will be served
* speaker Mike Mulberry, minister at the Campus United Church of
Christ, will share with us what the new sanctuary movement is and how
local faith groups can become meaningfully involved in supporting the
movement
* voluntary donations encouraged, all funds will go to New Sanctuary
work in the community

The New Sanctuary Movement is a passionate, national effort led by
faith groups that work for peace and justice.

"Religious leaders across a broad spectrum of denominations from 10
states are coming together to begin a New Sanctuary Movement to
accompany and protect immigrant families who are facing the violation
of their human rights in the form of hatred, workplace discrimination
and unjust deportation."

If you'd like to learn more before the
dinner, these websites and articles are a good place to start:

If anyone would be willing to sign up to bring some food to the event,
I can provide recipes and it would be a great help! Also, if you are
coming, it would be great to hear from you so we can get an estimate
of how much food to make.

I hope to see you all there!
