I know this is the first Saturday of the month, and folks should
demonstrate against the Invasion and Occupation of Iraq and
Afghanistan from 2-4pm in Downtown Champaign Neil Street but there is
a free and open to the public conference happening on Saturday…

BREAKING SILENCE:THE POLITICS OF PUBLIC PEDAGOGY 12/6
This day-long conference will present the work of the graduate student
collective enrolled in the Educational Policy Studies course, The
Politics of Pedagogy, led by Professor Antonia Darder.
The conference is an opportunity to share the understanding of
cultural production, as a political force for extending an
emancipatory vision of collective self-determination.
This is an exciting opportunity to see how public pedagogy redefines
higher education in such a way that it becomes public driven and
community centered.
Presenters include: Aaron Ammons, Charlotte E. Davidson, Amira Davis,
Judith Estrada, Johanna F. Galarte, Abby Harmon, John Jones, Matt
Linick, Shantel Martinez, Ashley Tsosie Mahieu.
