Digital profiling talk this Friday at the Friday Forum (noon at the
YMCA on campus)

February 27 @ 12 noon
Surveillance of Virtual Worlds
Lisa Nakamura, Professor, Department of Media Studies, UIUC
Professor Nakamura examines the history of digital profiling in
virtual worlds, such as World of Warcraft and Second Life, and
discusses the possible impacts of this and similar programs upon users
and upon cultural diversity.

The talk is free and open to the public and is in the University YMCA’s
Latzer Hall (located on the corner or Wright and Chalmers.) Lunch is
available through the Y Thai Eatery for $6.00 for non-students and $3
for students (school ID is required).
