Below is the information about the Illinois Green Party State Meeting to be held on July 17-19 in Champaign-Urbana. It will be a kickoff for the 2010 elections. Rich Whitney, who received 11% of the vote in the race for governor in 2006, has already declared his candidacy for 2010 and should be at the meeting. All are welcome to attend. The Illinois Green Party will hold a statewide Membership Meeting
in Champaign-Urbana, July 17-19.  At this meeting ILGP members
will vote to recognize candidates for statewide office in 2010.
All members are strongly encouraged to attend what will be the
kickoff for the 2010 election cycle.

The meeting will include workshops focusing on Party Building,
Issues, and Campaigning, in addition to the presentations from
candidates seeking to be recognized as official ILGP candidates
for 2010 statewide office.  Saturday night will feature a
fundraising dinner with a silent auction and a keynote speaker to
be announced.

A Friday night social will be at Crane Alley, 115 W. Main St. in
Urbana.  Saturday events will be the Illinois Terminal Amtrak
Station, 45 E. University St. in Champaign.  Sunday events will
be at Eastland Suites Hotel and Conference Center, 1907 N.
Cunningham Ave. in Urbana.

Recommended donation for registration is $25, $10 for students
and low-income members.  Recommended donation for the fundraising
dinner is $25, $10 for students and low-income members.  No
member will be denied entry to the meeting for inability to pay.

ILGP is hoping to have a larger-than-usual attendance at this
meeting as it is the 2010 cycle kickoff.  Advance registration is
urged, especially for the fundraising dinner, so that a proper
food order can be made.
