Wednesday 3/11 - SJP Meeting

*(Big Event) Thursday 3/12 - "Change in the Middle East: the U.S., Israel, and Palestine"
7-10pm at the Illini Union Ballroom (second floor, north side)

A panel featuring Ali Abunimah and Dr. Norman Finkelstein.  Both are well known speakers on the conflict and are rare guests at our university.  This a great opportunity to learn about the conflict and what needs to be done to achieve a true solution.  There will be a talk by each speaker followed by Q&A.  Make sure to bring your friends!

Monday 3/16 - "Promises"
7:30pm  at Allen Hall - main lounge

Students for Justice in Palestine and Ma Nishma (Israeli Culture Club) will be co-hosting a screening of the movie "Promises" in hopes of promoting cross-cultural dialogue regarding the current situation in the Middle East. Please join us for a screening of the film, followed by brief discussion and Middle Eastern snacks.

9-11pm  at the Courtyard Cafe

ASA is sponsoring the traditional Iraqi Maqam band, El Safaafir, to perform on Thursday.  The event will be just downstairs from the panel event so it should be easy to check out both.
