Subject: "Higher Roads to Peace: The role of ethics in resolving conflicts
between Arabs and Jews"
 Hello All,

Southern Illinois University Carbondale is holding an important conference
on ethics in the Israel/Palestinian conflict. The conference will include
international speakers, a film event, a dinner and cocktail reception, a
"philosophical conversation" and graduate papers. It is to be held on April
5th and 6th in Carbondale. The conference is free and open to the public.
Please visit our website to register. The web site is found at
www.higherroads.siuc.edu

As armed conflict continues through-out the world and specifically in the
Middle East how might ethics gain strength as part of solutions which will
one day end the violence and loss of human dignity? Is applied ethics still
viable? How might religion and concepts of religious community help? What
role does identity play in the prejudices and aggressions involved? These
are some of the questions that we will approach in the conference
discussions.

Please join us if you can.

Sincerely,
Rebecca Farinas
