News from Neptune - "The 'Subvert the Constitution' Edition" - for 16
December 2011 will be cablecast in Champaign-Urbana (channels 6 & 99)
at 7pm on Friday and repeated thru the week.

Carl Estabrook, David Green, & Ron Szoke discuss the news of the week
and its coverage by the media.

Topics include the tyrannical National Defense Authorization Act;
Obama's lies about the "overseas contingency operations" in Iraq and
the "reposturing" of the US military; tales of two classes/countries
from the 99%; and the establishment of the limits of allowable debate
in American politics, as represented by the film "Arguing the
World" (1998) and the late Christopher Hitchens.

Appended is a - not unarguable - comment on Hitchens from Norman
Finkelstein: <http://www.normanfinkelstein.com/on-christopher-hitchens/
 >.

“Either you repeat the same conventional doctrines everybody is
saying, or else you say something true, and it will sound like it’s
from Neptune.” –Noam Chomsky
