Thursday 12/1, 7:00PM - Champaign Public Library
*C-U Immigration Forum Discussion*
> "Secure Communities" is a controversial federal program that engages
> local police in enforcing immigration laws. Although "Secure
> Communities" was advertised as an initiative to catch and deport
> dangerous criminals, it has instead led to the detainment and
> deportation of many non-criminal immigrants in our community. In fact,
> locally, over 70% of those arrested and detained are non-criminal
> immigrant neighbors in Champaign County.
The C-U Immigration Forum comprises immigrants, students, local
clergy, service providers, labor union representatives, and ordinary
citizens concerned about the plight of immigrants in our community.
Many other local organizations are co-hosting this event.

Saturday 12/10 11:00AM-1:00PM West Side Park Pavilion, then march to
Chase Bank on University Ave.
Rally and march to kick off the Move Your Money campaign for Occupy C-U.
Recognizing the role that the big Wall St. banks have played in
corrupting our political system,
driving the mortgage crisis and the collapse of the economy,
Move Your Money urges people to withdraw our money from those banks
and move it to local banks and credit unions - and further, to
withdraw our consent
    from their antidemocratic practices.
