Invitation to READING GROUP ON JAILS: Wed February 8

 In our next session, our mass incarceration reading group will be
discussing jails. We will be reading the “Jailing Communities” report
that  surveys the experience of jails across the country and how they
have disproportionately affected poor people of color while draining
money away from local government services. This is the report that at
least three of the Board members referred to at the meeting on Tuesday
night. Since the jail campaign is going to be an important part of
CUCPJ’s work for the coming months, we would like to invite all CUCPJ
members and Peace list people to attend this session of the reading
group and join in the discussion.

 If you would like to read the report before the meeting James Kilgore
can email it to you. Even if you can’t read the report, you are
welcome to come as we will summarize it at the beginning.

The Reading Group will be on Wednesday, February 8, 7 p.m. at IMC
“seminar” room (where CUCPJ meets).
