*March for Justice for Trayvon Martin *

Date:   Saturday July 20, 2013****

Place:  Martin Luther King Park Urbana, Illinois & Urbana Federal Courthouse

*The Champaign County NAACP, CU Citizens for Peace and Justice, National
Council of African American Men, Citizens with Convictions, North End
Breakfast Club, Sisternet, Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence
(ICHV), AON, CCAD, along with many other concerned citizens, will join the
National Social Justice movement lead by the National Action Network on
Saturday, July 20th to march for Justice for Trayvon Martin. If you will
not be able to join in Champaign, check out the link to find rallies in

In Champaign county, we will assemble at 10:00 a.m. at Martin Luther King
Park in Urbana. From there, we will march to the Urbana Federal Courthouse
where a rally will be held from 12:00 Noon – 1:00 p.m.  Check out the

*Just a few reminders  as you prepare to join us:*****

**·         **Check the weather reports and dress appropriately for their
individual comfort and health needs and bring any toiletries, medications,
hats, sunscreen/bug spray, snacks/non-alcoholic beverages (please),
personal items that you will need for yourself and family members.****

**·         **We are asking that—if  possible—individuals wear black, white
or grey garments of their choice.****

**·         **Please park your car at a location that will be most
convenient for you to participate in the march.  Remember, you will have to
find your way back to your vehicle/transportation after the march so select
a location that will serve you best after the march concludes.****

**·         **Feel free to bring signs/placards, artwork that expresses
your messages of support for the Justice for Trayvon march and rally.  Use
this as an opportunity to invite your children and teens to get involved,
share their thoughts and concerns, make signs, banners, etc.,  that express
their ideas as well.****

*Please join Illinois faculty, staff and students for a candid and
informational dialogue on the Martin-Zimmerman trial and verdict, media
coverage, and the state of current social justice campaigns. For more
information contact Keena Griffin at kgriff14088 at gmail.com or call the
Center at 217-333-2092. The evening’s forum will be moderated by Dr. Safiya
Noble, Assistant Professor, African American Studies. Fliers for the
