[Peace] Silent Protest Tomorrow- Black Students at UIUC

Hey guys,

"Due to the growing climate that is discomforting to Black student in UIUC,
some have begun a movement to stop micro-aggressions against them. Many
receive ignorant comments about their ethnicity's and stereotypes. People
justify their claims as only being playful but it is a more deep-seeded
issue of post-modern oppression. Thursday they'll have an event on the
quad, it'll be a silent "protest". Since, it is late notice and we
understand this is an issue you might not want to pursue, we're just simply
saying MEChA supports this movement and we are informing you about it. If
you want to join us, or not that's up to you. If you aren't able to show
your support but are in solidarity of the movement we can keep you updated
on future events.

We received this message from MeCha earlier this week. There will be a
silent protest tomorrow from 8am to 12pm. Be sure to stop on your way to
class to show support.
