The regulalrly-scheduled recording of AWARE ON THE AIR (noon Tuesdays) will not occur today, 9/9, owing to the following event (which it is hoped will be cablecast in its place, at 10pm):

   STEVEN SALAITA SPEAKS ABOUT HIS TERMINATION

Where:  the UIUC YMCA, Wright and Chalmers
Who:
Professor Steven Salaita
Professor Robert Warrior, director of American Indian Studies at UIUC
Maria LaHood, senior attorney with the Center for Constitutional Rights
Michael Rothberg, head of the Department of English at UIUC, on behalf of the Modern Language Association (MLA)
Eman Ghanayem and Rico Kleinstein, students at UIUC
Inshallah the program will be recorded at its usual time next week.
