Hello,

I’m writing to invite you to “The Long Journey Home,”
<https://www.ilhumanities.org/events/the-long-journey-home/>a panel
discussion on the past, present, and future of Latino migration in
central Illinois, on Tuesday, September 29th from 7-9pm at the Spurlock
Museum in Urbana.

This second installment of our statewide, six-part series Latino
Americans: 500 Years of History
<https://www.ilhumanities.org/program/latino-americans-500-years-of-history/>,
will feature Miguel Keberlein, an advocate for immigrant and workers'
rights, and Angela Wiley, an associate professor of family studies
(UIUC), in a discussion moderated by Brant Houston(Knight Chair for
Investigative Reporting).

Together, they will discuss the demographic and cultural shifts that
Latino immigration has undergone. Using oral histories and investigative
reporting, the panelists will also discuss the challenges that still
face Latino migrants in central Illinois.

Please share with any colleagues or friends whom you believe might be
interested! This event is free and open to the public, RSVP here
