*An illegal war in Syria could be John Bolton’s first act as National
Security Advisor.*

This weekend, over 70 civilians, including children, died in an apparent
chemical weapons attack adding to the suffering and atrocities in Syria
that have been raging for seven years. Instead of taking steps to build
peace, *Donald Trump sent a tweet threatening “nice and new” bombs that
would only increase suffering and bloodshed.*

A bipartisan group of representatives are taking action to stop Trump from
single-handedly attacking Syria by holding him accountable to the
Constitution. But with John “Bomb 'em” Bolton whispering in Trump's ear, he
could immediately follow his tweet with terrible — and unconstitutional —
action. *That’s where you come in.*

*Call and demand your Representative Rodney Davis sign on to the
Lofgren-Amash-Lee-Massie letter and stop Trump from recklessly attacking
Syria without Congressional authorization.*

The suffering in Syria is unimaginable. The United States can and must take
the lead in pursuing creative diplomacy, welcoming Syrian refugees, and
building lasting peace. But a Trump/Bolton attack on Syria would neither
hold war criminals accountable nor bring justice to their victims — it
would only make an ongoing catastrophe even worse. It would also be illegal.

*And the fact is, with extreme warmonger John Bolton at his right hand,
Trump bombing Syria could be just the beginning. A strike on Syria could
lead to a confrontation with Russia that starts an even wider war.*

In 2013, a Congressional letter stopped President Obama from taking
unilateral action to bomb Syria. That’s why Reps. Zoe Lofgren(D-CA), Justin
Amash (R-MI), Barbara Lee (D-CA), and Tom Massie (R-KY) are moving quickly
to submit a similar letter to President Trump. *And we’ve got to get our
Members of Congress on board NOW.*

*Call your Representative and urge them to sign this letter and speak out
against a catastrophic Trump/Bolton war in Syria.*
