In my whole life, I don't remember any Congressional Democrat saying that
the U.S. should get out of the business of trying to pick the leaders of
other people's countries.

The only Member of Congress I ever heard say this was Ron Paul.

Maybe we're living in a new world. It's happened before.

PS: AOC retweeted this. Maybe her army will follow.

PPS: Any U.S. military intervention in Venezuela would be unconstitutional
unless it had specific prior authorization from Congress. In case anyone
cares about that.

PPPS: Also, it would violate the UN Charter - in fact even the threat
violates the Charter - unless it were authorized by the UN Security
Council. Now let's see who is threatening the "global liberal order" [*sic*],
and who is defending it.

Ro Khanna Retweeted Senator Dick Durbin

With respect Senator Durbin, the US should not anoint the leader of the
opposition in Venezuela during an internal, polarized conflict. Let us
support Uruguay, Mexico, & the Vatican's efforts for a negotiated
settlement & end sanctions that are making the hyperinflation worse.
