The FCC has apparently acted on WRFU's request for the minor amendment
to our construction permit to move the station to the new IMC building.
Hooray! as this now means we have the authority to begin broadcasting as
soon as we can build the station.

I should receive the paperwork next week. This is also the point where
YOUR active participation from this point forward is needed.
Being so close to getting on the air, it is now time for all programming
groups to start sending at least one representative to at least one
station meeting a month at least 50% of the time. This is required by
the RFU structure document in order to retain your airtime slot.
If your programming group will have a conflict with being able to make
station meetings on the first and third Tuesdays, this is also the time
to speak up about what a better time to meet will be, as failure to
attend station meetings can lead to loss of you airtime slot. Once
things are smoothly operating with the station, we will likely hold
general station meetings only once a month, so it is important that we
get your input and participation in meeting times.
In addition, there will be a need for at least one mandatory station
meeting in the near future. We will discuss this at the next RFU meeting
on Oct. 18. A more complete explanation on what programming groups need
to do to claim their allocated airtime slots will follow in the near
future. The bottom line is that RFU needs everyone's active
participation in order to take us across the finish line next month
during the barnraising, organize the station, and start broadcasting
your music, news, and talk.
Please remember that participating in community radio implies more than
just showing up for your airtime slot once RFU is on the air. Every
programming group needs to be involved in organizing the station as we
near November 13, the day we hope to go on the air. Many of you still
need to attend mandatory rules and procedures training, which will be
held the weekend of Nov. 11-13 during the barnaraising, as well as at
other times TBA, and everyone will need the hands-on training once the
studio is up and operating.. There is something for everyone to do, as
this is not the project of a few people, but of _everyone_ who wants
airtime, in order for RFU to succeed.
