maybe i should clarify more - what software package is your station going to be using for automation? if you don't have any package, and don't want to buy one - that is fine. there are several options, anything from just running winamp and having sets of playlists that you set up by hand, or going with a free, full featured linux automation package. two of these, which are good (but a bit fiddly to set up), are:
http://www.salemradiolabs.com/rivendell/
http://www.campware.org/en/camp/livesupport_news/
- these are something that we can set up if we have time - but i would advise having some linux people on staff in case the system has problems in the future. we can do an impromptu linux session if people wish.

some packages that other stations are using and are not too expensive are:
http://otsdj.com/
http://www.stationplaylist.com/
http://www.megaseg.com/ (for mac)

let me know if you have more questions. take care!
