Hi some Friends,

Unusual: I'm performing in two *different* concerts this week that
actually cost money to get in!

It would be cool to not perform to an audience of total strangers, so
please come if you can stand it.

The 13th Annual Martirano Award concert (this Thursday 7:30 at
Krannert, $10 or $4 if you can convince them you're a student)
features pieces that won this year's Martirano composition
competition, as well as some of the late Sal Martirano's own music.
I'm playing on a piece by my friend Chris Bailey from Boston, called
"Walking Down the Hillside at Cortona and Seeing Its Towers Rise
Before Me". I'd say the title suits the piece: humongous. Tuning
alert: it's for two pianos tuned to 19-tone equal temperament.

Granny's Porch is a yearly concert that's part of American Music
Month. This year's program features music of the 1930s. I'll be
playing a bit o' swingin' UDDERBOT (which ostensibly could have
existed during the '30s) with the Flexible Flyers. The show is 7:30
on Friday 20 November at the Virginia Theatre in Champaign. $15
adults, $10 senior citizens, $10 if you're in a group of 10 or more!

Please enjoy,
Jacob
