Welcome back!  I hope you all had a great break and didn't
work too hard:)  Only two weeks of volunteering left and we
could really use your help, even a few hours.  Thanks for
everything, in advance, and good luck with the rest of the
semester!

***Help Champaign Park District out for the PARADE OF LIGHTS
on December 3.  We are looking for volunteers to help us with
blocking the streets with barricades.  We will be having a
meeting with Kyle from the City's public works at 4:45pm at
the News Gazette building for instructions.   This is when you
will find out where you will be located and
handed a map to help with giving directions to the public and
the parade route.  Please email me if you are willing to help.

***We are here at Champaign Park District.  We are looking to
see if we would be able to have about 5 guys to help us with a
program called "Calls from Santa".  We are need males to
pretend they are Santa on the phone and call young boys and
girls from Champaign-Urbana.  They would have to ask the
children: what they would like Santa to bring them, Are they
going to leave Santa and Rudolph cookies and milk?  etc...

We have application from their parents with idea on them for
asking questions. They will stay on the phone no more then 5
minutes with each child.  We will need them on December 13
(Tuesday) from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the latest.  After all calls
have been completed they will have a meal provided for them.

***The Urbana Park District has an event called WINTER
SOLSTICE coming up on Dec. 10th.  They need a few volunteers
for this event, and were hoping that there might be a few VIP
members who have some extra time that weekend (I know finals
are coming up, and that keeps everybody very busy).  It's a
fun event and they won't need too much of folks time.  Here
are the details.

The event is on Sat. Dec. 10th at the Anita Purves Nature
Center.  The event is from noon till 4 pm.  They need a total
of 4 volunteers, two for each shift.  The shifts are from
11:30 till 2 pm and 2 pm till 4:30 pm.  Volunteers will help
with concessions and crafts for kids.

***YMCA AFTERHOURS really really needs help since the weather
is so cold now and tons of kids are going to play basketball
in the indoor gym.  So if you can spare a few hours (release
some tension by playing basketball) on Saturday from 7-10pm
and get FREE PIZZA, then email Kristina at kfranke at uiuc.edu
