C-U SPECIAL RECREATION ACTIVITIES

C-U Special Recreation is an organization that provides
leisure opportunities for persons with disabilities. During
the winter and spring they have many activites for
participates to choose from that train them for the Special
Olympics. As a volunteer you will help train and encourage
them. Below is a list of activities that you can volunteer
for. All activities require weekly time commitments.

***Bocce Ball starts March 14 and is every Tuesday from 4:30-
5:30pm. Transportation will be provided for this event each
week!

***Aquatics runs now until March 26 and is every Sunday from
7-8pm. You are required to get in the water with the
participants to help cheer them on!

***Bowling runs now until April 12 and is every Monday and
Wednesday 4-5:15pm. You can volunteer one or both of the
days.

***Track and Field still needs coaches. Practice is every
Wednesday 6-7pm at the Armory.

There is a mandatory training session you need to go through
next week. Even if you are not sure if you want to
volunteer for these events, I suggest going to a training
session so you have the option of volunteering for C-U
Special Rec later in the semester:)

Here are the training session times:

Monday (2/20) 1pm foodcourt in Union
Wednesday (2/22) 3pm RSO Complex
Thursday (2/23) 2pm RSO Complex
Thursday (2/23) 3pm RSO Complex

If you are interested in any of these events please email
Brittany at bkwhite2 at uiuc.edu with which event you are
interested in doing and what training session you can attend
next week!

Kristina:)
