Good Afternoon,

The Office of Volunteer Programs is conducting a short survey to understand 
why students volunteer.  Please take the few  minutes to fill out this 
short survey at http://www.union.uiuc.edu/ovp/resources/survey.htm.  If you 
have any questions or concerns, please contact Kathy Guthrie at

Remembering...Responding...Rebuilding...this is the September 11th Memorial 
Service Projects which entails volunteering in the name of someone who died 
during September 11th attacks. Registration ends by October 21st and 
volunterring projects must be completed between September 11th-December 13th. 
Remember ALL volunteering projects are exceptable.  In order to register 
contact Office of Volunteer Programs (thats us!!) at 333-7424, ovp at uiuc.edu, 
or stop by at 277 Illini Union.

Beth Finke a blind author is in need of assistance with filing information in 
print that she needs to go through with someone who can see.  This job will 
only be an hour a week and her location is within walking distance if the U of 
I.  Contact her by 337-6505 or by email (she uses a talking computer) at

Distribute Krispy Kreme Doughnuts..."did anyone say KRISPY KREME?"..."I 
Did...silly!" Well its for EIF Fundraiser (Eastern Illinois Foodbank).  The 
EIF is teaming up with Parkland Women's Basketball to sell Krispy Kreme 
doughnuts. Volunteers are needed Friday, September 27th from 7:30 - 10:00 to 
manage the distribution of these doughnuts. Doughnuts will be purchased in 
advance from September 16th to September 26th ($5.00 per dozen; if interested 
in ordering by phone with credit card, call (217) 531-3800). Volunteers will 
be needed September 27th between 7:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. to hand out the 
doughnuts at the two distribution locations, Robeson Plaza at Mattis Ave. and 
Kirby Ave., Champaign, and Lincoln Square Mall at Illinois St., Urbana. Posted

Salt Fork River Clean-Up is the name and picking up garbage is the GAME!!! You 
are probably thinking you didnt hear me correctly...well re-read the first 
sentence if you dont believe me...anyways they need volunteers to help clean 
up mother nature so dont be shy! They also need volunteers to help with staff 
sign-in tables and the refreshment area.  This all begins on October 5th 
between 8:30a.m to 1:00pm and Contact Marc Miller(217) 344-2371.

Spurlock Museum needs volunteers for there information night!!! It's just one 
night October 8th at 7p.m on Tuesday I'm sure a few of you can miss one 
episode of the Gilmore Girls just for one night!!! Contact Beth 265-5485 or

Oldies but goodies:

Attention, Attention!  Youth for Christ (YFC) is looking for volunteers 
For their programs Campus Life which involves mostly school activities. Also
Teen Moms which need people for afternoon and evening times.  Last but of
course not least their outreach program Youth Guidance which works with
Juvenile Detention Center and Youth Probation.  Contact scoot at yfceci.org

Now try to remember way back to high school football games can  you  
Go back that far?  Well if you can Illinois High School Association (IHSA)
football championships will be at our very own Memorial Stadium.  They 
will need students for ambassadors (put on teams to do various tasks), yard 
signs don't worry you don't have to make one, tent city (your bum will be well
rested), banners, face-painting=3D85don=3D92t forget to bring the artist 
within you, and lastly hotels (?)delivering info to various hotels silly!

"Ring-Ring....ring-ring...can someone get that?"  Well you can at Champaign's 
County Health Care Consumer's Annual Phone-A-thon!  You will be helping them
inform members on advocating for contraceptive coverage & equity in 
employee health benefits.  Also lets not forget FREE FOOD and TRANSPORTATION

"BOOOO"...did I scare you? Well from October 18th to the 19th the Urbana 
Park District will hold its annual Haunted Hallows Trail event at Anita Pruves
 Nature   Center. They need people for various jobs such as concessions ticket 
sales, security (start working out!), spirit guides, and crafts. Don’t forget
