1. April 1st-4th CBSI-blood will have a Blood Drive to help resupply our
health organizations' diminishing stores.  The drive's hours are from 10a.m.
to 4p.m. and it will take place in the Illini Union Room 314.  No appointments
are necessary and walk-ins are welcome.

2. The MS Society is offering an excellent volunteer opportunity for your
organization. They need volunteers on April 6th to assist with registration,
meal service, loading/setting up materials and equipment, rest stop support,
etc. More than 1,400 volunteers are needed for the MS Walk, which is their
single largest fundraising event with a goal of $3 million. They expect over
14,000 people to participate in this exciting event. We are looking for
friendly, fun and energetic volunteers to help make the 2003 MS Walk a
success! Our Walk covers the Chicago metropolitan area with Walk sites at the
following communities: *Champaign /Urbana *Chicago Lakefront *McHenry County
*Illinois Valley/Ogelsby *Joliet/Lockport *Naperville*Peoria *Kankakee *South
Suburbs *Quincy *North Shore (Highland Park) *Bloomington / Normal *Lincoln
*Northwest Suburban (Schaumburg) *Kankakee *Quad Cities *Springfield Proceeds
from the MS Walk will benefit the Chicago-Greater Illinois Chapter of the
National Multiple Sclerosis Society by helping to fund MS research and provide
services and programs to more than 10,000 people in Illinois who live with the
daily challenges of MS.  Contact Charlotte Haynes-Williams for more

3. University of Illinois YMCA is having an International Dinner and needs
volunteers to assist with set up and clean up, replenishing drinks,
greeting at the door, and taking pictures.  The International Dinner will
be on April 6th from 2:30-9:00pm.  Contact Menjiwe Winfield at

4. Already volunteering?  Looking to work on community projects AND earn
academic credit?  LINC:  Learning in Community is a 3-hour, campus-wide
course emphasizing project management, teamwork, leadership, and community
engagement.  Students work with community partners such as Habitat for
Humanity, the Swann School for severely disabled students, local schools,
and even North South University in Bangladesh (there are 12 different
partners to choose from for fall).  Current LINC projects include: helping
Habitat for Humanity create a resale store, developing horticulture
projects for children and young adults with severe disabilities, tackling
the problem of arsenic in the water of the people of Bangladesh, designing
and implementing outdoor classrooms for local elementary and jr. high

LNC.  Meets Tues (3:00-3:50 pm)/TH (3:00-4:50 pm) To learn more about all

5. Champaign Park District is hosting an Easter Eggstravaganza (!) and
needs volunteers to stuff easter eggs for the egg hunt.  Volunteers are
needed from 5:30-10:00pm on April 10th.  Pizza and soda will be provided!

6. Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) need a volunteer to deliver
library materials to those unable to come to the library. This helps
homebound people maintain their lifestyle and to stay involved in the
world around them through literature.  Contact Jo Hopkins (217)359-6500.

7.  Christie Clinic's 20th Annual Run for the Health of it, needs
volunteers for various aspects of the race (set-up, on the course, finish
line/runners, finish line/5k walk, registration & awards, first aid,
scoring, timing, clean-up, courtesy, health fair).  It will be held on
April 26th from 7:00am-11:00am.  Contact Kelly Schaudt for more

8.  Circle of Friends Adult Day center need an ARTIST to paint a scenic
mural on the shaft walls of their elevators for their senior/adult
residents who would enjoy the new look.  Contact Kathy Rhoads at 359-3884
