1. Want to win free pizzas, gift certificates to your favorite restaurants
or a free night's stay at a hotel? Best Buddies International (a project
of Volunteer Illini Projects) is holding a raffle for their spring
fundraiser.  Best Buddies is a non-profit organization aimed at enhancing
the lives of persons with mental retardation. Raffle tickets are $2 and
there are great prizes!! Contact Lindsay at LBARAN at uiuc.edu to purchase or
sell raffle tickets!!

2. Office of Volunteer Programs is hosting their next Dialogue on Civic
Engagement this Thursday night to discuss economic justice and the topic:
"Is There An Appropriate Living Wage?"  The dialogue will be held in 314B
Illini Union at 7pm.  Dinner will be provided, so please RSVP to
volson at uiuc.edu or 277 Illini Union ASAP.  Come and bring your passion,
power, and wisdom as we together hope to listen, catalyze, and connect
students to powerfully impact lives through politics and service.

3. Summer internship are available at Planned Parenthood of East Central
Illinois.  Work with Education Programs Coordinator to train area high
school students in five main areas: Communication & Relationships;
Sexuality, Sexual Orientation, Anatomy & Puberty; Abstinence &
Contraception, Sexually Transmitted Infections, HIV & AIDS; Pregnancy,
Birth & Options and Teen Pregnancy; and, Decision Making & Community
Resources. The high school students are trained to become Peer Educators
and keep track of the number of people (and topics covered) that they talk

4. The 6th Annual Non-Profit Career Fair is coming with full and part-time
positions, internships and volunteer opportunities.  Participants include:
American Red Cross, Champaign Park District, City of Champaign, Chicago
Transit Authority, Illinois Department of Agriculture, Mercy Home for Boys
and Girls, Peace Corps, Provena Covenant Medical Center, Teach for
America, United Way of Champaign County.  It will be held on Monday, March
17th in the Illini Rooms of the Illini Union from 11am-3pm.  For more

5. Looking for a fun and rewarding experience over spring break? Allerton
Park is now accepting applications for their "Student Friends of Allerton
Park" program.  Enjoy a free week at the beautiful Allerton House
Conference Center while you participate in trail maintenance, gardening

6. University of Illinois YMCA need volunteers to help with their IMPACT
Fashion Show this Saturday, March 8th from 2-6.  Contact Menjiwe Winfield

7. RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program) needs help with maintaining
their large and small courtyards of their facility.  They need volunteers
for watering and planting.  Also days and times are flexible to fit your
