1.  Girl Scouts Diversity Education Programs

Help the Green Meadows Girl Scout with their diversity education programs for early elementary children in the next few weeks.  Dates and times include:  Tuesday, September 19th at 9-10:30am, Wednesday, September 20th from 9-10:30am and from 1:00-2:30 1st grade, Thursday, September 21st from 9-10:30am. 2.  Punt, Pass, and Kick with the Champaign Park District

The Champaign Park District needs volunteers on Sep 17th from 12:00pm -5pm to help with sign-up, take measurements, and assist with program.  For more information contact Tal Kitron at (217) 398-2550.

 

3.  Annual Phonathon with the Champaign County Health Consumers

Every year CCHCC calls individuals to ask them to get involved in a specific issue. This year our Phonathon is about the Medicare Task Force Part D campaign for REAL Medicare prescription drug benefits!  Volunteers are needed on Sep 25, 2006 (5:30 to 8:30 P.M.), Sep 26, 2006 (5:30 to 8:30 P.M.), Sep 27, 2006 (5:30 to 8:30 P.M.), Sep 28, 2006 (5:30 to 8:30 P.M.) 4.  C-U on the Trails with the Champaign Park District

5.  Eastern Illinois Foodbank Internship

The Eastern Illinois Foodbank's Department of Marketing and Development is in search of an intern for the Fall 2006 semester.  The Foodbank, which is based in Urbana, distributes over 5 million pounds of food per year to food-insecure individuals and households in a 14-county area of eastern Illinois. 

 

They are looking for someone dynamic, passionate about hunger and poverty issues, and unafraid of dealing with the public; the ideal candidate also possesses excellent writing skills and an ability to take a project and run with it. This internship offers a small stipend and requires a commitment of 12-15 hours per week. 6.  Planned Parenthood Internships

Planned Parenthood of East Central Illinois is looking for an Accounts Receivable Assistant who is focused on assisting in completion of tasks related to filing and payment of Medicaid and insurance claims.  This intern does not assist in Clinic operations or work directly with clients.  They are also looking for a Development Assistant that is responsible for assisting the Fund Development staff to meet its yearly fundraising goals. 7.  UCYCLE 20th Anniversary Fair

Help celebrate UCYCLE's 20th anniversary by volunteering!  Volunteers will assist city staff at recycling booths, pass out information and assist with recycling games to celebrate U-CYCLE's 20th Anniversary at the Lincoln Square Mall on Sep 23, 2006 (8 AM - 1 PM). 8.  Costa Rica Trip

Want to make a difference in the life of a child? Join the Foundation for International Medical Relief of Children's Costa Rica trip this winter break where you will be providing medical care and supplies to underprivileged children in Costa Rica. The informational meeting is Monday September 18th in 110 Lincoln Hall at 7pm. The tentative dates for the trip are Jan 4th-Jan 12th and the trip will approximately cost $1,000 but we will have many fundraisers throughout the course of the semester. 9.  Champaign Public Library Volunteer

The Champaign Public Library needs your help!  Volunteers are needed to provide support to Adult Services staff. Various duties include newspaper clips, pulling books, assisting with filing and data entry. A volunteer is needed occasionally to help with special projects. 10.  Make Learning Fun Fair

The Champaign Early Childhood center needs volunteers to show parents how to put together educational kits or games that they can do at home with their Pre-K child. They need 3-4 volunteers to man tables for 2 hour shifts all through the day from 9 AM -7 PM.  Dates and times include Nov 9, 2006 (10-12), Nov 9, 2006 (1-3), Nov 9, 2006 (3-5), Nov 9, 2006 (5-7).
