OVP will be hosting a workshop focusing on the implications of volunteering where the race, ethnicity, and/or socio-economic status of the community may be different from the volunteer's background that has the goal of exploring strategies for using service experiences in the Champaign-Urbana community as a link toward deeper cultural awareness and understanding. No Registration Required. E-mail us at ovp at uiuc.edu for more information. We hope to see you on March 28, 2007 at 406 Illini Union from 7:00p.m.-8:00p.m.

2. Site Leaders for Illini Union Community Connection Welcome Week Needed

The Illini Union Community Connection program is looking for enthusiastic, dedicated, community builders who are willing to volunteer to serve as Site Leaders for Illini Union Community Connection Welcome Week Service Projects. Site Leaders will lead service projects for first year and transfer students during the Fall 2007 Welcome Week activities. Volunteer projects are based in five interest areas: Hunger and Homelessness, Youth and Education, Neighborhood Involvement, Health Needs, and the Environment. Site Leaders encourage group interaction, share insights, and provide a comfortable environment for participants.
