=========================================================
Everyone can be great because anyone can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't even have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve... You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love...
(Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.)

7. ORPHEUM CHILDREN’S SCIENCE MUSEUM VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

This will be an eventful spring at your Orpheum Children's Science Museum.
Here are some of the ways that you can participate.

Docent Training Begins Again!
Friday Mornings in February the 1st-29th, 10am to 12pm
We had a great time at last semester's training and if you missed it then here is another opportunity. Our educational docents learn how to lead science based field trips for school groups here at the museum. The docents last semester also had the opportunity to help design their own curriculum, participate in exhibit development, and contribute to upcoming programs. This semester's training should also be a blast.

After-School Teaching Assistant's Needed
Mondays-Thursdays starting February 5th
Volunteers are needed to assist with the after school programs here at the Orpheum. Please visit our website at www.orpheumkids.org for details about the classes.

Weekend Wizards Assistants Needed
The next one is January 26th!
Every fourth Saturday of the month we host our Weekend Wizards events from 1pm -3pm.Volunteers are needed to assist facilitation at these events.

Orpheum Crew
Every Monday from 2pm-4pm
Come help the museum grow! Crew members are responsible for maintaining the museum in many different capacities. We utilize this time to do all the things we cannot do while the museum is open from something as exciting as installing a new exhibit to something as mundane as changing the light bulbs the Orpheum Crew is the backstage force that keeps the museum running.

To be involved with any of these, contact the museum coordinator Meadow Jones at 217-352-5895 or meadow.orpheum at gmail.com. For more information, visit www.orpheumkids.org.

8. THE ILLINI 4000 FOR CANCER

The Illini 4000 sends a team of 25 riders across the United States each summer to raise money for cancer research. This summer they are riding from Seattle to Washington D.C; the ride will begin during the last week of May 2008 and end no later than August 2, 2008. This year they hope to raise $100,000 for the American Cancer Society and Camp Kesem.
