1. NON-PROFIT AND GOVERNMENT CAREER FAIR

The Office of Volunteer Programs is co-hosting a career fair Monday, March 16th. You will be able check out the full and part-time positions, internships and volunteer opportunities available from non-profits.

2. INTERNATIONAL VOLUNTEERING INFO NIGHT

Come learn more about volunteering aboard, hosted by the Office of Volunteer Programs on March 17th Illini Union in the General Lounge, room 210 at 7pm. For more information contact OVP at ovp at illinois.edu or at (217)333-7424.

3. BARK MADNESS

Miss your best friend at home? You know the one who fetches a ball and is always happy to see you? Then scratch your itch for your pets at home by helping out with Bark Madness, a fundraiser for the Champaign County Humane Society! If you would like help with the fundraising events on the quad, please contact Liz at ovp at illinois.edu<mailto:ovp at illinois.edu>.







4. REAL LIFE, TEEN MOM PROGRAM

Real Life Support Group is sponsored by Youth for Christ and meets the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Mondays of each month from 6-8 pm at the Vineyard Church in Urbana.  Each meeting begins with a meal for parents and their children, and then the children are checked into the nursery to play around 6:15pm.  We are in need of people to come and play with the children while their moms are in the group meeting. The kids range in age from birth-5 years old. 5. SALVATION ARMY MOBILE CANTEEN

Drivers and riders are needed to deliver coffee, soup, chili, and blankets to homeless individuals in the C-U area.  Drivers are needed daily from until April from 4:45pm-7pm on a rotating schedule.  Attending a driving training session is required, as well as having a valid drivers license. 6. BOY SCOUT MERIT BADGE SEMINAR

Volunteers are needed to help boys earn their badges! Assist instructors in the classrooms at Holy Cross School with subjects such as electronics, astronomy, criminal justice, engineering, etc.  You can help keep the boys on task, assist with group projects or demonstrations, and offer general assistance to the instructors.  Lunch is provided and snacks are available throughout the day.  Volunteers are welcome to sign up for the entire day or half day shifts.  Volunteers need to arrive March 7TH at Holy Cross School (in Champaign) by 7:15 a.m. and all classes are over by 5:00 p.m.  To sign up, please contact Kathy at kathya at aocs.org<mailto:kathya at aocs.org> or by phone at 217-359-2344.

7. READ ACROSS AMERICA

Come help us celebrate literacy with the National Education Association's Read Across America!  This is a fun event on Saturday, March 7th, 2009 from 10 am-2 pm in Lincoln Square Mall in Urbana. Volunteers are needed to staff the event, setup, take down, and help booths with activities for families. 8. ALLERTON ALLIES NATURAL AREAS RESTORATION

Do you have a passion for the environment? Do you enjoy working outside with plants? Come help restore Allerton to its natural beauty! Volunteers are needed on March 7th from 9 AM – 12 PM. 9.  PROVENA VOLUNTEER FAIR

Are you interested in finding out more about volunteer opportunities at Provena? Please join us on Tuesday, March 10th from 3:00 PM-6:00 PM. You will be able to talk with staff and volunteers from Provena Covenant Medical Center, Provena's Center for Healthy Aging, and Provena Hospice.  The event is located at Provena Center for Healthy Aging Wellness Room, 410 E University Ave.  Questions? 10. WESTVIEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SPRING FUN FEST

Remember how exciting going to the fair was when you were a kid? We need students to help run carnival games (balloon toss, cake walk, face painting, fishing pond, etc) for an elementary school carnival.  All volunteers will be provided a meal and be asked to run simple games and pass out prizes.  The fair is on March 13th from 6 pm-8:30 pm. 11. CARNIVAL AT THE MOTHER AND SON BASH

Want help moms and sons bond? There will be a Carnival with many games and activities that need volunteers for. March 20th - set up 12pm-3pm event 5:30pm - 9:30pm. 12. NATURAL RESOURCE EXPO

The Institute of Natural Resource Sustainability will be hosting its annual expo March 13th -14th and are looking for interested volunteers to help with guiding people around the building, traffic control, lunch supervision, and demonstrations.  Experience with geology, natural history, sustainability, etc. is not required but if someone has experience in any of those fields we would really like to hear from them!  We are in need of at least 4 volunteers each hour from 9am – 3pm, and people are welcome to volunteer for multiple shifts. 13. PONY LEAGUE BASEBALL COACHES

Do you love baseball and kids?  Sign up to coach 13-14 year old boys this spring!
