[Community] [IMC] Phone and Services Policy

Others can feel free to weigh in, but it's my understanding that in
conjunction with using the phone, we're also talking about individuals using
IMC resources (like sound and production room equipment) explicitly for
their personal gain. I've been told that Derrick has said "I work for the
IMC" and may be trying to promote and make a profit on services he can
provide using IMC equipment. If this is the case, it's clearly outside of
our mission. It's also not clear whether he's active in any working group.

We also have an issue of access- to the production room, and thus the phone,
computers, cameras and other equipment. Production is meeting again
regularly now, mostly to revive the work that Stephen Fonzo did to set up
procedures for equipment and space management of the production facilities.
That's for production to work out, but I mention it in this discussion since
it will affect access to the room and connects with the accountability
issue. Moving forward production is trying to make the room more useful,
provide clearer instructions and scheduling procedures, and begin to require
more accountability for scheduling computer time and equipment in the
production room facilities.

In any case, using the phone or other resources as an IMC reporter is
totally good, like Mike says. An individual doing so should have a clear
connection to a working group though.
