This is a really critical issue that a lot of 
people are organizing around, especially with the 
transition from analog to digital transmission*. 
Some people are even working to boot corporate 
media off the airwaves. They're doing it through 
the license renewal process.That might not sound 
like fun, but it sure can make your local 
corporate broadcaster unhappy.

You are actually allowed to go and inspect a 
broadcaster's public file (where they have to 
keep records of their fulfillment of their public 
interest obligations) during business hours 
without notification. See
