[IMC] Volunteers needed for innovative, exciting media conference!

Interested in using media to transform your community? This July, the
Urbana-Champaign Independent Media Center will be hosting the 2012
Grassroots Radio Conference.  The Grassroots Radio Conference (GRC)
celebrates the vibrant and democratic medium of local, community-driven
radio. We bring together media artists, community organizers, radio
operators and engineers, and ordinary people from across the country to
learn, discuss, brainstorm, and build.

*We are currently looking for volunteers to support the GRC. *We are
looking to fill the core team positions of Childcare Coordinator, two
Publicity Coordinators, and Food Co-coordinator (all of which get free
registration to the conference), but we need volunteers for many other
pieces of the conference, from A/V support to childcare to medical support.

*All volunteers get a $25 discount off the registration cost for the
conference. Members of the core organizing team, including coordinators,
get free registration to the conference. *Core team members are expected to
attend our weekly team meetings (Wednesday 1:00-2:30pm at the IMC).

Open coordinator positions

   - Childcare Coordinator: Build a safe, inclusive space for children at
   the conference; find childcare workers for the weekend of the conference.
   - Promotions Coordinators (2): Work with our GRC coordinator & a team of
   volunteers on promotions -- social media campaign, contacting local &
   national organizations, help create radio/video PSAs.
   - Food Co-coordinator: Secure food donations for conference
   participants; get food & food necessities (plates, cutlery) to the
   conference; find volunteers to serve food

We are looking for local Champaign-Urbana home-stays for GRC participants.  Do
you have space available to house participants while they’re in town at the
