FOR
IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Champaign, Urbana, IL-      Nationally Touring Independent Folk Singer to Perform in Champaign

As part of the Champaign-Urbana
Singer/Songwriter Collective,  Nightjar Promotions, in conjunction with
the Champaign-Urbana Folk & Roots Festival, will host singer/songwriter/pianist Elaine
Romanelli, a nationally touring independent solo artist, at The Clark Bar, 207 W. Clark St.,  Champaign, IL, on Thursday March 14, 2013, at 7:00 pm.

Romanelli's
songs are folk/pop stories in a line stretching from Joni Mitchell, with a
touch of Alison Krauss, and a hint of Celtic lilt.  Romanelli
travels coast to coast with her keyboard, playing about a hundred shows a year
at house concerts, listening rooms, festivals, and more. Her latest album, Real
Deal, has played on folk, college, and syndicated public radio, and her next
album is due out in late 2013. In
addition to her own recordings, Elaine has contributed to chart-topping albums
by other folk artists, including Marci Geller, Mara Levine, and SONiA/Disappear
Fear. For free music, videos, and more, visit her website, www.elaineromanelli.com.

Opening for Romanelli will be The Flower
Jax, featuring local, upcoming song writer, Kenna Mae Reiss and
vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Chris Strand from the popular local band The
Curses.  Daughter of famed local drummer Kenny Reiss,
Kenna Mae burst onto the scene last year with her debut performance at the 2012
Champaign/Urbana Folk & Roots Festival, performing in the C/U
Singer-Songwriter Collective Showcase, as well as the Nightjar Promotions'
showcase at Black Rock Pizza. She is a veteran stage performer, and is
currently studying Theatre Arts at Parkland College, where she is also the
vocalist for the Parkland Jazz Ensemble.

Kenna also had a significant supporting
role in the recent local film "Scary Normal," which also featured
some of her music.  Kenna's powerful songs and haunting performances have
garnered much acclaim over the past several months, with many noting that she
could be the next big artist to break through from Champaign to the national
spotlight.

Chris Strand is a well-noted musician in his own right, leading such
popular bands as The Curses, Ol' Number 7, and Wagon Fire, as well as two
fantastic duos:  The Flower Jax and The Flask Brothers (featuring Phil
Alley).  Chris originally hails from Rockford, but has become a seminal
force in the Champaign/Urbana music scene, performing almost nightly in one
incarnation or another.
