[Imcamericorps] Security incident

At 8:00pm tonight (4/27/2011), I returned from getting dinner at the
Co-op to find the North basement door unlocked and propped open by
6-foot long plywood board laying on the ground. This board was not the
1-foot wide board laying on the ground in the stairwell outside the
North door to serve as a bridge through the puddle that accumulates when
it rains.

I found the North stairwell basement door unlocked and the SDAS door
propped wide open.

I found the North stairwell door to the third floor hallway locked, but
ajar due to friction. I closed the door and made sure it would not open.
The lights in the third floor hallway were on.

I put my food in the SDAS room and locked the SDAS door. Then I went to
the Bike Project and found Phil Graff to ask if the Bike Project had
seen anyone unusual. They had not, but he noted that when he arrived to
open the Bike Project for open hours that evening, he'd found the South
basement door in its open position.

Phil volunteered to do a security sweep with me. I showed him what I'd
already found, and we brought the plywood board inside. We checked the
basement and continued up the North stairwell. This time, the third
floor hallway lights were off.

We swept the third floor and went down to the South ramp, where we found
the South ramp door propped open by its deadbolt.

We continued our sweep through all three floors, but found nothing else
unusual and found all other appropriate doors locked. We completed our
sweep at around 8:15pm.

I will enter this incident into the security log when I get it set up on
the wiki.

Thanks for helping out, Phil. I felt a lot safer with someone else along
for the sweep.

Brian
