*Meeting Notes for January 19, 2011*

In attendance:  Krist, Isak, Z.B., Leon, Tina, Aaron  (ZB presiding over
meeting in Carol's absence)

*Americorps Volunteer Reports:*

Z.B.- gave announcements about Job Fair for RPC on February 2, 2011 at
Douglas Community Center 512 E. Grove St.
Times : 10:00 - 12:15 and 12:15 - 2:00 (IMC will have a table that needs
volunteers)  Please consider helping with this.

Isak - trying to begin selling tix online in advance.  Big Show this
weekend: Jan 23: 7:00 (Dustbuster and FogHorn String Band)

Tina- reported on upcoming WINTERFEST on Jan 29, 2011 (2:00pm-5:00pm) Free
event free workshops start at 3:30.

Krist:  See Z.B

Leon- Painted sunroom, bathrooms, general maintenance, plumbing crew in
basement for makerspace

Aaron:  Putting togther helpline for migrants (totally new program)
organizing volunteers
Coordinating Activist Laboratory Workshop needs help with names


*Discussion of Service for National Day of Service:*
MLK Service Reports: (*please send what you did to Sam for her final
report).*

Aaron and Leon -  to Don Moyers Boys and Girls club-  A lot of Improvising
at first.  Socialising with students.

Krist-  Westley Food Bank training

Isak - Books for Prisoners

Z.B. - Breakfast and American Red Cross

Tina - Vineyard Food Bank (preparing 100 bags of food and supplies)
Restocked and Cleaned the whole facility.  Helped with Boardman Theater -
passed out fliers and cleaned theater after program



*General Discussion*

Americorps reporting questions:
Z.B.  discussed keeping up with reports
Isak showed example of template for reporting

Question on reporting time:  Capacity building is not on hardcopy-timesheet
for offsite. (The timesheet should just list SERVICE, not direct service).

*BiG question on how to report capacity building.  Are we doing this right?
Some of us might be reporting direct service when it is actually capacity
building.*  Isak suggests thinking sustainability as a way to think about
capacity building.
This topic should be revisited!! We are requesting a meeting dedicated to
this so that we are all consistent!

How do we report general Americorps Meetings?  Training or Direct Service or
Capacity Building
