[rfu-automation] Re: rfu-automation Digest, Vol 36, Issue 7

This raises some complex issues for WRFU. First, we've got to comply
with FCC guidelines on calls to action - given the implied quid pro
quo, this would count as underwriting, so we'd need to think
particularly carefully about how we want to deal with it. We probably
wouldn't want to treat such items as we do actual PSAs. [A PSA is a
Public Service Announcement, usually not involving 'pay for play'.
This would be a 'paid in kind' promotional piece.]

As we're currently in the process of launching our Underwriting
program, it's important that any proposals for cross-promotion, such
as this, not undercut that project.

Also, as Mike notes, link exchanges and advertising are sensitive
topics at the IMC, requiring careful consideration by individual
working groups, so this is something where we should move carefully,
and include ongoing consultation with the working groups proposed to
be affected.
